Spirit of Giving

Giving from the heart

I love this because it represents giving from the heart. That flannel turquoise blankie with the little red cabbage roses on it is her “blankie” that doesn’t leave her side much. When she comes home it is one of the first things she seeks out – she sniffs it, she hugs it, she pulls it close. It comforts her. It is home and all that is safe and good.

So, when she gives it to Berkley like this.....it is the act of giving that the Bible teaches us about. God gave us his Son. He gave us Him to seek out and pull close to us in the same way, to comfort us and know we are safe and good in His hands. I've been doing a lot of that lately.

God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. Acts 15:8

May you find your spirit of true giving this Christmas Season and beyond.
