Leaf in the Snow.

Are you a leaf in the snow?

I watched this leaf blowing in the snow on our deck and it made me think how lost and lonely it seemed, being wisped in all directions with no control over its direction. It stood out of place on the snow, fallen months ago from it’s main family of nourishment and life.  Alone. Cold. Lifeless. I could almost hear it cry for help knowing the life it had before.

I see people like this leaf.  They have left the love and life of their families and God’s love and life as well.  They are blowing aimlessly about going this way and that. Their priorities seem all askew.  So many people search in the wrong places for what is important in life.  Like the leaf they can’t work their way back to the tree of life for whatever reasons and bondage that keep them in the place they are.  Sometimes they don’t even see themselves as the dried up leaf...but others see and know.  I think at certain times in our lives we can all relate to this leaf too.

I’m glad I’m not a leaf in the snow.  Maybe I’ve had my moments when trials seem to rise to the forefront of life.  But, my family and friends nourish me.  My church and relationship with Christ nourish me and sustain me – keeping me connected.

I hope you aren’t a leaf in the snow.

Proverbs 3:18
She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.

Oh no!

OK - who taught her this brain itching?

To pick or not to pick...that is the question. Sigh...etiquette school is going to be expensive at this rate! :-)
