Trials Persist

Trials persist – I don’t think God intends for us to live a totally peaceful, trial free life – and lately it seems to be we move from one fire to the next.  From Anthony being BITEN at school by another 7th grader then also being beaten up at a church event by an older girl to the point of humiliation, to the washer breaking, so Soph having diarrhea, it just doesn’t stop.  Then I take my deep breath, know my trials are nothing compared to others around me near and far, I listen in the silence and know my God is with me….my God is awesome….my God continues to grow me and remind me I need him and he is there.
Then I count my Blessings….1, 2, 3, 4, 5…..they go on.
I’ll leave you with this “blessing” of a new washer and dryer that cuts down the time like crazy from the old set – it is better than anything entertainment wise for Sophia…..she’d put her chair in front of it and eat supper watching it go round and round and round if I’d let her…..again, God is good and blessings come back to us in new ways when we experience trials!  I just need to keep remembering that!

Courtney Turned 11 on March 16th in Texas!

On our Spring break Courtney turned 11! This was her first birthday with us and as a Belknap. We "ate cake" at home before we left for Texas.  We then celebrated on her special day at Rainforest Cafe in San Antonio TX with a volcano cake and many other special Birthday treats....like Lanie, the 2010 American Girl doll she received from us....yes, Lanie went EVERYWHERE with us! :-)

The Birds of Spring!

The Birds are coming back

Flocks and flows of birds abound in the skies suddenly here in central Kansas . I’m eager for green and spring this year, more than normal. I've noticed others referencing their eagerness for Spring this year more than usualy.  Usually I just enjoy each season, patiently waiting on the next – but this year feels different – the eagerness for outside play on green grass, planting flowers and hopefully for once, landscaping the front of our house is in my gut.

So I welcome the “V’s” of Canadian geese as they fly overhead honking....coming in larger batches, they are smart – they know better weather is coming. They tell my soul spring will be here before I know it.

Do you have something you anticipate with eagerness but have to be patient for it? “All things come to those who wait.” Who says that? Abraham Lincoln.

I think about Jesus and he knew what lay ahead for him. Did he have the feeling of dread, anticipation of “I wish it was over” – these are such human feelings to have – he was human.

Have you ever volunteered to teach or do something and then could hardly wait for it to be over, but once it comes and is done, you go “that wasn’t so bad” or “that was fun.”

Guess I'll sit back and wait....it will come, it always does....Spring.
Closure.
Green.
Hope.
Relief.
Restoration.
Resurection.
Revival.
