Blowing in the wind….

May is just a busy month all around.  Our calendar looks like an ink invasion.  Yesterday we forgot Sophia’s last tumbling class…..we don’t miss out on things much, but once in a while the wires do get crossed…..we are like this napkin floating in the wind I saw at the parade last week – the strong wind lifts us and we move as we need to - pushed by the forces of life around us.

Last minute Pops concert because we just can’t play more than a few songs at the Spring concert a few weeks ago…..and one song at graduation isn’t enough so let’s get in another concert so parents can run around some more.  Sorry – negative attitude.  I’m glad my children have music in their lives!  It is important.  Now to convince the 5 year old she can survive yet again on the bleachers when she is bone tired without making noise.
We’ve had piano recital, preschool field trips, track, golf, tumbling, dentist apts, an 8th grade grad coming up, parade marching...the list goes on.   Yes, I know I'm whining.
I think summer will be better – I'm hoping it will be more relaxed.  Part of me wants the kids to relax and be kids for the summer but the realistic part is bored kids get into too much – shoot, mine get into things when we are busy!  One is hoping to pass their lifeguards, has to do some summer school (help – need transportation!), the other will be a volunteer at the local nursing home and beg for the pool as much as possible.  Church camps, swimming in healthy doses, family camp, T-ball…..the list continues.  I'll get the chores posted lest I hear "I'm bored."
I know at one time things will return to a calm and we’ll reminisce and miss these busy times….
So for now – I’ll be the napkin in the wind.  Lord set my wind direction and keep me strong and true!

Psalm 135: 6-7
The Lord does whatever pleases him,
in the heavens and on the earth,
in the seas and all their depths.
7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
he sends lightning with the rain
and brings out the wind from his storehouses.
I like that.
  Now to find my storehouse...
