My Shadow Children

My Shadow Children

  • Shadows – can be fun, creative and scary.
  • It was shadow tag that broke Courtney’s finger the first day out of school on May 28th!
  • Shadows can reflect dark things from our past.
  • Shadows are often referred to with negative connotations.
  • I like shadows.
  • Shadows are fleeting.
  • Shadows are silhouettes of life.

As I caught these pictures of my shadow children, I marveled at the beauty of each child in shadow...it shows their character so clearly to me.  It made me ponder at the shadows in my life past and present.

Did the bible talk of shadows?  Yes, it did quite a bit actually – 51 references to the word “shadow” in the NIV version.  Have shadows been around since the sun was created back in Genesis with Adam and Eve?  Did Adam and Eve see their shadows in the garden and play shadow tag? Did Old Testament parents teach their children to make sheep or cow shapes on their tent walls?

Job 8:9 says:  for we were born only yesterday and know nothing, and our days on earth are but a shadow.

Birthday Girl is THREE!

Birthday past.....my baby is now THREE that is 3! Yikes time goes so fast....loving every minute of it though.  She is "all trained" and does SUPER and will attend some preschool this fall....her backpack has been ready for weeks.  So much fun!  She had one wish only - a Dora cake.  Delivered!

A little spit with some cake doesn't hurt anyone!

Pet Shop animals rule!

So do baby dolls that match my curly hair.
Grandma Belknap and Grandma Schapansky always pick out the best birthday cards!

She is so silly - look at her funny expression - she cracks us up!  I know your birthday was fun....love you always my little one who is now "THREE."

Before and After

Before:

After:

This summer project represents me in many ways.  Before summer, ready for a break - needing the refreshing Mountains of Colorado to cool and refresh my soul, leisure days with the kids in the water park and many other summer activities too many to list in my absence from blog-land.  So now, I return, refreshed, ready to grow again blooming wider...time will fill my flowers and shrubs out....time will fill my heart and soul out.

School enrollment tomorrow....hard to believe it is that time again....how has your summer been?  I'll be busy reading and catching up on my blog friends....good to be back.
